Alumni Spotlight: Chloe Burke

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese Studies at the University of Florida takes great pride in celebrating the remarkable accomplishments of its esteemed alumna, Chloe Myshel Burke.

Chloe

Chloe plays a pivotal role on the public and privacy policy team at Instagram, where she focuses on a diverse array of global issues to bolster the ongoing growth and viability of the business. Her expertise encompasses collaborating with regulators worldwide, data protection, internet safety, enhancing business and creator experiences, advertisements, content moderation, and youth internet safeguards.

Before her tenure at Instagram, Chloe was a key member of Airbnb’s public policy team, leading various regions such as the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean. She also supported numerous business teams and special projects during her time there.

Chloe’s professional journey began at the prestigious law firm Holland & Knight in Chicago, working with the Corporate, Local Government, and Real Estate group. She pursued her JD and Master in business programs at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, and completed her B-School rotations at various Forbes 50 companies in Seoul, South Korea.

Chloe’s academic foundation was built at the University of Florida, where she earned her B.A. in Portuguese and Political Science, with minors in Spanish and Latin American Studies. Her fluency in Spanish and Portuguese was cultivated through her academic pursuits and her experiences living and working in Costa Rica and Portugal. As a Miami, Florida native, Chloe now divides her time between New York and Miami.

Beyond her professional success, Chloe enjoys a vibrant personal life enriched with creative hobbies that stimulate her right-brain sensibilities. Her interests include horology, a deep appreciation for Latin American series on Netflix (with current recommendations such as Maldives, Coisa Mais Linda, Pálpito, and Monarca), and a passion for the arts. Chloe also finds solace in the healing powers of the outdoors, and she takes pleasure in bespoke culinary and hospitality experiences.
