Carolyn Tucker Elected to the Academy of Science, Engineering and Medicine of Florida
Psychology professor Carolyn M. Tucker, PhD, has been elected to the Academy of Science, Engineering and Medicine of Florida in recognition of outstanding contributions to her field.
A clinical psychologist, Tucker was honored for “creating science-based tools for health promotion and culturally sensitive health care in underserved communities.” She is among a group of 15 new members elected to the academy in 2021.
Tucker is a Professor of Psychology in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the UF Florida Blue Endowed Chair in Health Disparities Research, among other academic appointments. She also serves as the director of the UF Health Disparities Research and Intervention Program.
Established in 2018, the Academy of Science, Engineering and Medicine of Florida now has 181 members who live or work in the state of Florida and have made significant advancements in science, engineering and medicine.
