Twelve students from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences were honored at the 30th Annual International Student Achievement Awards Ceremony.

The awards recognize outstanding international students committed to the global dimensions of UF’s missions of teaching, research, and service. 

 

Claudia J. Garnica-Díaz

The Alec Courtelis Award for Outstanding International Ph.D. Students was awarded to Claudia J. Garnica- Díaz from Colombia. The Alec Courtelis Award is given annually to outstanding international graduate students. The award was first given at the 1996 International Student Awards Ceremony by Louise Courtelis in honor of her late husband, Alec Courtelis, a well-known financier and former Chairman of the Board of Regents.

 

 

 

Niccolò Rugger

The Outstanding Undergraduate International Student Award for bachelor level international students was awarded to Niccolò Rugger from Italy. This award recognizes bachelor’s level international students who exhibit the highest level of academic excellence in addition to leadership and involvement with the broader campus community.

This year’s ceremony took place on Tuesday, November 19th in the Grand Ballroom at the Reitz Union.
