UF Department of Psychology ranked second-best online psychology program in the U.S
For the fourth consecutive year, the UF Department of Psychology has been ranked in the top 5 for online undergraduate programs by the U.S. News & World Report. This year UF is second in the nation for online undergraduate psychology degrees.
Psychology Department Chair Julia Graber attributes this high ranking to the department’s approach to its online program, which is nearly indistinguishable from its in-person offerings. Every class offered online is fully integrated with on-campus curriculum and most are taught by the same professors with the same lesson plans.
“Hence, students know they are receiving the same outstanding educational experience that every UF psychology major receives,” Graber explained. “It speaks to the hard work, excellence, and innovation of our faculty who are teaching online courses, as well as the support that UF provides in assisting faculty in building online courses that integrate new technologies and best practices.”
This seamless integration between online and in-person curriculums also extends to the department’s numerous experiential learning programs. Virtual labs are offered so that students can receive hands-on learning no matter where they are, and students who wish to pursue these degrees can receive one-on-one mentorship sessions with psychology staff whenever needed. Online students also have the same study abroad opportunities as on-campus students through UF’s Global Learning Institute, and even if those online students don’t wish to travel, they are still given chances to interact with students around the globe through these programs.
“These exchanges are offered in some of our most popular online courses,” said Graber. “Moreover, they are just one example of innovation in online education that is available in our program and at UF.”
