Professor Imre Bartos is Named 2020 Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellow

Professor Imre Bartos

Professor Imre Bartos is a recipient of the 2020 Sloan Research Fellowship. The two-year fellowship, which comes with an award of $150,000, recognizes researchers for “distinguished performance and a unique potential to make substantial contributions to their field.” Bartos studies black hole collisions and neutron star mergers.

His group is involved with research using the LIGO gravitational-wave observatory, the IceCube neutrino observatory, the future LISA gravitational-wave satellite, the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array radio observatory, the Fermi and Neil Gehrels Swift gamma-ray burst satellites, and others.
