Founded in the fall of 2020, the Gator Chapter of the National Society of Black Physicists (NSBP) is a student organization dedicated to the education, uplift, and advancement of Black Physics and STEM students. NSBP members have the opportunity to apply for prestigious scholarships and internships, register for NSBP conferences and events, and connect with prominent physicists and professionals in fields like astrophysics and cosmology, biological and medical physics, optics, particle physics, and much more. Additionally, NSBP hosts a variety of workshops and provides a platform for STEM students to interact and form study groups in areas such as physics, chemistry, mathematics, pre-med coursework, and programming.

The ultimate goal of the Gator Chapter of the NSBP is to increase the number of Black/African American undergraduate and graduate students in physics and promote the success of students in physics coursework at the University of Florida.
